May has been quite a rainy month!
To start off, I went the Forrest City Rodeo and then I was interviewed by Channel 7 News, on the Daybreak Show.
The Forrest City Rodeo was my first rodeo of the season! I hadn't ever pushed cattle or ran flags, but Micki helped me out greatly! Thursday night April 30th was the Forrest City Miracle rodeo where my horse Badger and I helped lead the kids and adults around. Some of the kids there had special needs, but that didn't stop them, they had the best times of their lives. My first kid's name was Ashley, then I lead Mary Grace, Lana, Katie, and Jessie. The Miracle Rodeo ended earlier than we all expected, because of rain and lightning. I still had a blast and met some pretty wonderful cowgirls and cowboys. Friday May 1, was a less rainy night Micki and I pushed cattle for steer wrestling and tie down roping. The rodeo announcer gave Micki and I our own introductory run, and we rode in the grand entry. After the last segment of bull riding was over Micki, Mrs. Tonya and I ran flags. Saturday night May 2, mother nature did not bless us with the best weather! Although the arena was super muddy I think it made the rodeo more fun! We pushed cattle and signed autographs. The fans were great, it was pouring rain and they were still there supporting their favorite cowboys and cowgirls! Wild Thang, the bull fighter was hilarious, I was laughing all night long! His wife is a stunt rider, and she carried the American flag and showed us a few of her tricks! The specialty act was the Team Ghost Riders, they were a team of monkeys that rode border collies and herded goats. Their link is http://www.teamghostriders.com/index.html you should go check them out! They were enjoyable for everyone of all ages! Everyone I met there were super nice and made me feel really welcome!
Friday May 15th the channel Daybreak Show came to Perry's Restaurant in Lonoke, as one stop on their tour of Arkansas. Lonoke County Sr. Rodeo Queen Haley McGee was there, and Miss Lonoke Kara Jacks. Jessica from the Daybreak Show interviewed each of us and asked what it is we promote. We all woke up early, but it was worth it!
The MRAR pageant is coming up soon and I can't wait. Be sure to study girls! I'm sure each of you will have a great time and do great! I am excited the pageant is in Searcy this year! I can't wait to see all of you soon! Just remember win or lose, it's the experience that matters!
